Rookie Spotlight: Charlie Kidder



MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.–This year, the Gophers have made numerous significant additions to the team. Leading up to the 2018 season opener, we will feature each newcomer in our Rookie Spotlight. Today, we feature attackman Charlie Kidder.

Kidder was a 4–year starter and a 4–time West Suburban All–Conference player (Honorable Mention, 2x Second Team, First Team) for Lyons Township High School in Western Springs, Illinois. He received Second Team All–State honors his senior year, and is currently Lyons Township’s all–time points leader with 258 regular season points. He was named a captain and Offensive MVP both his junior and senior years with 65 points (32 goals, 33 assists) and 111 points (48 goals, 63 assists). Charlie is the son of Gina and David Kidder. He has two younger brothers, Ben and Sam.

What led you to decide playing for (or attending) Minnesota?

I loved getting out of state and loved Minnesota’s campus and programs.

What do you plan on majoring/studying? And why?

I’m currently undecided in the Carlson School of Management. I chose to go the business route because I know that is is very divers with many different career routes.


What are you most looking forward to this season?

Competing for a shot at the national championship.

Taco Taco

The Dark Knight

Favorite hobby (outside of lacrosse)?

Fishing

If you could be any superhero, which one would you be?

Superman

If you had to live in another country for 2 years, where would you choose?

Italy, I love the culture and plan to study abroad there.
